History of Hammocks
The Murumuru Butter comes from the Astrocaryum Murumuru tree, found in the Brazilian and Peruvian part of the Amazon rainforest. The butter fibres are most notably known for making hammocks.
Hand picked sustainably by locals
We're interested in the seeds only. With help from our partnering communities, they hand pick the best quality seeds which are only harvested from February until May. The seeds are then dried and hydraulic pressed (cold pressed) to extract the butter. By using no additional heat, we can maintain the fruits original state, maximising the vitamin A & C richness which provides smoothness to the hair.
