Argan oil is extracted from the seeds of the argan tree (Argania Spinosa) also known as the ‘tree of life’. The argan tree grows wild and exclusively in the south-west of Morocco. Between June and August, Berber women collect the ripe fruit that has fallen onto the ground. Then, the fruit is sun-dried, and the nuts are cracked by hand to extract the oil-rich seeds. Finally, the seeds are cold pressed in order to produce the argan oil while retaining a maximum of nutritional goodness.
In order to be an active participant in sustainable development in Morocco, our supplier co-workers have set up a charitable organization ‘Marocavie’ which supports projects that aim to improve the education of children the socio-economic development of women and protect the argan forest.
Our Argan Oil is one of the hero ingredients in our No Plastic Shampoo.
